Roleplay is a lot of fun to me! It's a mix of escapism and articulating my feelings through writing, but it's also partly me imagining cool stuff to music I hear and then putting that into what I write. I started roleplay through some less-than-savoury activities on Discord (where else, amiright ;-;) before writing for/getting into roleplay with friends I made through another real-life buddy of mine, and I can thank them for basically my entire online friend group nowadays. I don't roleplay as much I used to, sure, but I still have plenty of fun making stories with others and seeing what happens to characters, places, factions, worlds.

Bonus: Useful Websites for Roleplay (in my opinion)

Mapchart has lots of map presets and a mostly easy interface, but limits you to existing subdivisions and some historical/strategy game borders

Planetmaker lets you upload custom surface images and heightmaps and gives you plenty of options and presets to play with too

This flag maker site is obviously meant for creating designs that you get printed, but the editor on their site lets you export .svg and .png images without ever making an order, and provides you lots of symbols and existing flags to play around with

Arches lets you make .svg vector diagrams for any kind of parliament, council, house or what-have-you for a political roleplay
